Vincent William Romano was a 2014 Republican candidate for District 16 of the Illinois House of Representatives. He was removed from the ballot on January 7, 2014, after the Board of Election Commissioners for the City of Chicago found that Romano had an insufficient amount of valid signatures.[1] He ran unsuccessfully for the same seat in 2012.


Romano earned his Master's Degree in Psychology from Northeastern Illinois University. He worked as a financial advisor for Merrill Lynch from 1985 to 1991. He was then employed as senior vice-president of Wachovia Securities Financial Network from 1991 to 2003. He has been senior vice-president of Morgan Stanley Smith Barney since 2003. He is also currently a realtor for The Vince Romano Group.

Elections for the office of Illinois House of Representatives took place in 2014. A primary election took place on March 18, 2014. The general election was held on November 4, 2014. The signature-filing deadline for candidates wishing to run in this election was December 2, 2013. Incumbent Lou Lang (D) ran unopposed in the Democratic primary and was unchallenged in the general election. Vincent Romano (R) was removed from the ballot on January 7, 2014.[3][4][5]

Romano ran in the 2012 election for Illinois House of Representatives District 16. Romano was unopposed in the Republican primary on March 20, 2012, and was defeated by incumbent Lou Lang in the November 6 general election.[6][7][8]
