A notice of intent to recall was filed on October 3, 2013. As of January 8, 2014, city councilman Eric Chatelain estimated that about 200 signatures had been gathered, well short of the 2,277 required to place the recall on a ballot. Wellman, who filed the original intent to recall, refused to comment on the recall effort and instead referred questions to Susan Benton, whom Wellman said was now responsible for the effort.[1]
