Pojunis was defeated by Democratic candidate Dina Titus on November 6, 2012.
Pojunis attended Bucknell University from 1964 to 1966. In the late 1990s, Pojunis worked as a sales representative for the Research Institute of America, followed by two-year stints for both Elsevier Science and Thomson FindLaw before he transitioned into work as a communications director, first for the Clark County Republican Party, and then for the Libertarian Party of Nevada. As of the 2012 election, he was the director of business development for New Media Plus, a Las Vegas-based marketing firm for small- to medium-sized businesses.
