Voters to chose recall mayor Willie Gandara, with approximately 69% voting Yes and 30% voting No.[3]

Rumblings of a recall first began in October 2010, when Ralph Duran said he was going to initiate a recall campaign against four of Socorro's city council members, and that he was not going to target the mayor. The four council members Duran was angry at had asked Mayor Gandara to resign. The resignation request came after Gandara was indicted on corruption charges.[4]
