This page is a content-and-style guide about how to write an "external links" section in a state legislative profile.

Links to include

Links you should standardly include as external links in a state legislature's profile article are:

  • The official website of the legislative chamber (describe as "Official website of the Alaska State Senate" or "Official website of the Indiana House of Representatives," etc.)
  • The subpage of the official website that is its list of members of the chamber
  • The subpage of the official website that is its list of legislative leadership
  • The subpage of the official website that is its list of standing committees
  • Project Vote Smart's list of the members of the chamber
  • If there is a political-almanac style website in the state that provides a voluminous amount of material about that chamber, that is regularly updated, unbiased and reliable, this link can be added
