Xenia City Staffing Charter Amendments, 2 (2010)
The first proposed charter amendment sought to amend the charter so that there will have to be by law a minimum amount of fire and police officers employed by the city. City officials were against this measure because there was no way to fund the additionsl officers which would be required if this had been approved.
The city proposed an alternate charter amendment, it will allow for volunteers to take the place of hired police or fire officers as needed by the city. Confusion had arisen though in regards to the question of what the city would do if both proposed amendments had been approved.
