Marian McLawhorn (b. February 23, 1943) is a Democratic member of the North Carolina House of Representatives. She has represented District 9 since 1998.

McLawhorn earned her BSBA in Business and her Master of Library Science from East Carolina University in, respectively, in 1967 and 1988. She has worked as a media coordinator for high schools and a community college. She served as mayor for Grifton, NC, from 1997 to 1998, and was a Grifton commissioner from 1992 to 1997. McLawhorn and her husband, Richard, have four children.

McLawhorn is running for re-election to the 9th District Seat in 2010. She has no primary opposition but will be challenged by Stanley Larson in the general election which takes place on November 2, 2010.


On November 4, 2008, McLawhorn won reelection to the North Carolina House of Representatives.[1] $141,993 was raised for this campaign.[2]
