Donald William Stoltze (born July 30, 1961, Anchorage, Alaska) is the Republican representative for District 16 (Chugiak/Mat-Su) in the Alaska State Legislature. Stoltze was first elected in 2002 defeating Alaskan Independence Party candidate Larry Wood. He has been re-elected twice, in 2004 and 2008.

Stoltze serves on the Board of Directors of the Chugiak Senior Housing Incorporated. He has previously served as administrative assistant to the Alaska State Senate President, Alaska State Senate (2001-2002), and legislative aide in the Alaska Legislature (1982-2002).

Stoltze is a member of the Greater Palmer Chamber of Commerce, Greater Wasilla Chamber of Commerce, Chugiak Lions, Chugiak Senior Citizens Center Incorporated, Chugiak-Eagle River Chamber of Commerce, and Elks Lodge #2682.[1]

Stoltze is running for re-election to the 16th District Seat in 2010. He has no opposition in the August 24 primary. Bonnie Nelson is running for the seat on the Democratic ticket. The general election takes place on November 2, 2010.


In 2008 Stoltze was re-elected to the Alaska House of Representatives District 16. Stoltze (R) finished with 7,349 votes while his opponent Beverly Serrano (D) finished with 2,389 votes.[2] Stoltze raised $36,464 for his campaign fund.[3]

Issue positions

Stoltze did not provide answers to the 2008 Political Courage Test. The test provides voters with how a candidate would vote on the issues if elected.[5]
