226 statewide ballot measures appeared on the ballot in thirty-seven states in 2006. This included:

Of the 226 total ballot measures, 204 were on the November 7, 2006 ballot, with 22 appearing earlier on statewide primary ballots.

The state with the most ballot measures was Louisiana, with 21--all of which were referred to the ballot by the Louisiana legislature, since Louisiana doesn't permit the initiative and referendum process.
