Career
Hasner currently works as a business consultant and attorney.
Hasner was a Republican member of the Florida House of Representatives, representing the 87th District from 2002-2010. Hasner served as House Majority Leader.
He is a member of the Boca Raton Community Hospital Board of Trustees, Cystic Fibrosis Foundation of Palm Beach County Board of Directors, Florida-Israel Institute Board of Directors, Florida Research Consortium Board, South Florida Chapter, National Safety Council Board, and Reach Out and Read Florida Advisory Board.[2]

Issues
Hasner did not provide answers to the Florida State Legislative Election 2008 Political Courage Test. The test provides voters with how a candidate would vote on the issues if elected.[3]
Secret ballot amendment proposed
Hasner is the lead sponsor of a Secret Ballot Amendment. On March 11, 2009, a committee of the Florida House of Representatives approved the proposed amendment to the Florida Constitution as a possible ballot item for the 2010 ballot.[4]

I of State Constitution to declare that right of individuals to vote by secret ballot is fundamental &, where local, state, or federal law requires elections by the people for public office, requires public votes by the people on initiatives or referenda, or requires designations or authorizations of employee representation, right of individuals to vote by secret ballot is guaranteed."

Elections
2012
Hasner was defeated by Lois Frankel (D).[6] Hasner ran in the 2012 election for the U.S. House, representing Florida's 22nd District. Hasner won the nomination after running unopposed on the Republican ticket.[7][8] The primary elections were held on August 14, 2012.

2010
Due to Florida term limits, Hasner could not run for re-election in the Florida House of Representatives elections of 2010.[9]
2008
On November 4, 2008, Hasner won re-election to the Florida House of Representatives from Florida's 87th District, defeating Robert Ostrov (D). Hasner received 38,775 votes in the election while Ostrov received 25,188 votes.[10] Hasner raised $1,052,391 for his campaign; Ostrov raised $60,580.[11]
