The Alabama Attorney General is a constitutional officer whose duties include providing legal representation for the State of Alabama, defending the State in all lawsuits, representing the State in all court proceedings in which the constitutionality of a state statute is challenged. He may also initiate both civil and criminal court action to protect the State's interests or to enforce State law.
The current Attorney General is Troy King.
