The Alabama attorney general has assigned a lawyer specializing in election law to monitor a fraud hotline in the run-up to the November 4 vote. Alabamans can call to have their questions answered, and the attorney general's office will examine any allegations of fraud or other misconduct.[1]
Attorney general promises to work for a fair election
The hotline is part of efforts by the office of the state attorney general, Troy King, to ensure that the election is conducted fairly and is considered legitimate by Alabamans. A particular focus is the legitimacy of absentee ballots. King said that he would enforce a state law requiring all absentee ballots to be either notarized or witnessed by two adults.[1]
