The 07CHA3 is an initiated state statute that would amend the certificate of need requirements so that it would apply only to long term nursing home beds and residential psychiatric treatment centers in Alaska.[1]

Here is a time line of the what steps the initiative:
- July 10, 2007: Application was received in the Lieutenant Governor's Office
- Also on July 10, a copy of the application and signatures were sent to the Department of Law and Division of Elections
- July 17, 2007: The Division of Elections determined enough sufficient sponsor signatures existed *September 5, 2007 The application was certified by the Lt. Governor
- September 14, 2007: Petition booklets were issued to the sponsors
The one year filing deadline is September 14, 2008. Since the 365th day falls on a Sunday the deadline to file the petition is close of business on the next regular business day for the division, which is Monday, September 15, 2008.[2]
