The Alaska Marriage Amendment, also known as Ballot Measure 2, was on the November 7, 1998 election ballot in Alaska. It passed, with 68.1% of voters in favor.
The amendment was a legislatively-referred constitutional amendment to amend the Alaska Constitution, placed on the ballot by the Alaska State Legislature.

This measure would amend the Declaration of Rights section of the Alaska Constitution to limit marriage. The amendment would say that to be valid, a marriage may exist only between one man and one woman.
