The Alba school measure sought to renew the current non residential property tax which is set at a rate of $18 per $1,000 of assessed value for a further five years in order to continue to pay for current operational costs in the school district.
The Central Lake measure sought to renew the current non residential property tax which is set at a rate of $18 per $1,000 of assessed value for one year i order to continue to pay for school operational costs.[1]

| Alba Proposition: Shall the limitation on the amount of taxes which may be assessed against all property, except principal residence and other property exempted by law, in Alba Public School District, Antrim County, Michigan, be increased by 18 mills ($18.00 on each $1,000 of taxable valuation) for a period of 5 years, 2012 to 2016, inclusive, to provide funds for operating purposes; the estimate of the revenue the school district will collect if the millage is approved and levied in 2012 is approximately $581,043 (this is a renewal of millage which expired with the 2011 tax levy)?
Central Lake Proposition: Shall the limitation on the amount of taxes which may be assessed against all property, except principal residence and other property exempted by law, in Central Lake Public Schools, Antrim County, Michigan, be increased by 18 mills ($18.00 on each $1,000 of taxable valuation) for the year 2012, to provide funds for operating purposes; the estimate of the revenue the school district will collect if the millage is approved and levied in 2012is approximately $2,347,747 (this is a renewal of millage which expired with the 2011 tax levy)? |
