Albee Township Library Levy Addition (November 2011)
This measure was defeated
- YES 73 (22.67%)
- NO 249 (77.33%)
This measure sought to make the township a part of the River Rapids District Library district and in so doing add to the current property tax by a rate of $1 per $1,000 of assessed property value for a period of ten years in order to fund the township's obligation to the library district. Due to the library not having enough funding, services to the library were cut off to the neighboring townships, this measure would have allowed residents to again have access to library services. Also, if the township had approved the measure one member would have been added to the library board from the township. This measure was not dependent on the other township's approval or defeat of their library questions.
