American Foundation for Equal Rights

The American Foundation for Equal Rights (AFER) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization founded in 2009 that works "for full federal marriage equality for all Americans."[1] They sponsored a federal lawsuit against Proposition 8.[1] AFER was founded by Chad Griffin.[2]

Mission

According to AFER's website, "The American Foundation for Equal Rights is dedicated to protecting and advancing equal rights for every American."[3]
