She is a member of the Central Wisconsin Fair Association, Coalition of Wisconsin Aging Groups, Marshfield Area Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Marshfield Business and Professional Women, Marshfield Eagles, National Rifle Association (NRA), New Visions Art Gallery, Saint James Parish, Wisconsin Bear Hunters, Wisconsin Hunting and Fishing Alliance, and the Wood County Farm Bureau.[1]

Vruwink won re-election in the 2012 election for Wisconsin State Assembly District 70. Vruwink ran unopposed in the Democratic primary on August 14, 2012 and defeated Republican primary winner Nancy VanderMeer in the general election, which took place on November 6, 2012.[2][3]
