An initial look at the 2012 Kansas House elections

TOPEKA, Kansas: Elections for the office of Kansas House of Representatives will be held in Kansas on November 6, 2012. According to Ballotpedia's page for the state house elections in 2012, all 125 seats were up for election.

Heading into the November 6 election, the Republican Party held the majority in the Kansas House of Representatives. The signature filing deadline for candidates wishing to run in these elections is June 10, 2012.

Section 4 of Article 2 of the Kansas Constitution states, "During the time that any person is a candidate for nomination or election to the legislature and during the term of each legislator, such candidate or legislator shall be and remain a qualified elector who resides in his or her district."
