Brock is a former Chair of the Western Carolina University College Republicans. He was Campus Coordinator of Hayes for Governor in 1996. In 1998 he was Volunteer of Howard for House. He was a Field Representative of Lauch Faircloth for United States Senate from 1998 to 1999. In 1999 he was Campaign Manager for Bill Cobey for Chairman. He was then Special Assistant to Chairman for the North Carolina Republican Party from 1999 to 2000. Brock was also Campaign Manager for Walter Jones for United States House in 2000. In 2000, he was a candidate for the North Carolina State Senate, District 38. He joined the North Carolina State Senate in 2003 and has served in that position since. He is currently Deputy Republican Whip, representing the 34th district.
