Moralez earned a Bachelors in Marketing from New Mexico State University in December 1993.[1] He worked as a Governor's representative from July 2003-December 2008 and as Director of Constituent Services from January 2009-May 2009. Moralez served as Executive Director of New Mexico Border Authority from May 2009-2010 and was City Manager of Sunland Park from October 2010-July 2011.

In an email submission to Ballotpedia, Moralez described his political philosophy as follows:[1] I believe that for some people their only advocate is their government. Their government has an obligation to enact measures to protect the public and set policy balancing environmental and job creating programs. I also believe that municipal elections need to be held to a fair, transparent standard that allows a true representative of the community to run for office.

Moralez ran in the 2012 election for New Mexico House of Representatives District 52. He was defeated by Doreen Y. Gallegos in the Democratic primary on June 5, 2012. Incumbent Joseph Cervantes (D) is not running for re-election. Gallegos faces Republican Arlington Brewbaker in the general election on November 6, 2012.[2][3]
