An Arbor Park School District Levy Increase measure was on the April 5, 2011 ballot in the Arbor Park school district which is in Cook County.

  • YES 310 (34.68%)
  • NO 584 (65.32%)Defeatedd[1]

This measure sought to increase the current property tax to a rate of 3.149 percent in order to help pay for general needs of the school district.[2] As with other Cook county tax increase measures, the first proposed increase was not the actual amount residents would have seen added to their property taxes. The estimated amount was $60 per $100,000 of assessed property value but the actual increase would be around $202.21 per $100,000 of assessed value. The law firm who calculated the assessed value was at fault, county officials noted, not the school district who only sought legal advice. School officials were trying to ensure that local voters were aware of the actual increase before they went to vote.[3]
