A Arcadia Village Drainage Levy Replacement measure was on the March 6, 2012 ballot in the village of Arcadia which is in Hancock County.

The measure was approved

  • YES: 83 (65.35%) Approveda
  • NO: 44 (34.65%)[1]

This measure sought to replace the current drainage levy with one set at a rate of $.23 per $100 of assessed property value for a further five years in order to further pay for drainage maintenance, improvement and repair costs in the village.[2]

The question on the ballot:

A replacement of a tax for the benefit of the Village of Arcadia for the purpose of PROVIDING FUNDS FOR REPLACING, REPAIRING, MAINTAINING, AND IMPROVING THE CURRENT STORM DRAINAGE SYSTEM at a rate not exceeding 2.3 mills for each one dollar of valuation, which amounts to twenty-three cents ($0.23) for each one hundred dollars of valuation, for a period of five (5) years, commencing in 2012, first due in calendar year 2013.
