Wells ran in the 2012 election for the U.S. House, representing Louisiana's 1st District. Wells is facing M.V. Mendoza (D), incumbent Steve Scalise (R), Gary King (R), and David Turknett (I) in the November 6 blanket primary.[1] Louisiana does not hold a primary before the November 6 general election. If candidates do not receive a majority of the vote on that date, they go to a runoff, to be held on December 8.
