Arguments pro and con in ballot measure voter guides
From Ballotpedia
|
Arguments pro and con in ballot measure voter guides are a section of voter guides that make the case for a "yes" vote and for a "no" vote.
Pro and con argument key points are sometimes gathered impartially by the state agency publishing the voter guide, but more often submitted by support and opposition for direct publication. Some states will publish multiple submissions from various citizens, while others will only publish one from each side. Several states even allow for argument rebuttals.
In those states that do publish a "pro and con' section, there is usually:
- A word limit
- A precisely-defined process for collecting the pro and con arguments.
