| This measure did not or will not appear on a ballot |
The Arkansas State Official Merger Question did not make the 2012 ballot in the state of Arkansas as a legislatively-referred constitutional amendment. The measure would have merged the state offices of treasurer and auditor into one position, the state offices of the secretary of state and lieutenant governor into one position, eliminated the state land commissioner position, and gave the Arkansas Legislature power to set salaries for constitutional officers. The proposal was introduced and submitted by State Senator Robert Thompson. The Arkansas Legislature can only send three legislatively-referred constitutional amendments to the ballot each election year. Since three amendments had already been sent to the ballot by the legislature, this amendment did not make the 2012 ballot.[1][2]
