Recall laws

An effort to recall Arsenio Cordova from his position on the Taos School Board began in May 2009. The effort failed due to an insufficient number of signatures.[1]

Recall supporter arguments

The recall effort led by Citizens for Quality Education began after allegations that Cordova discriminated against school employees due to race or sex, created a hostile work environment and violated confidentiality of individual students.[2] The group included former board candidate Jill Cline and board member Thomas Tafoya.[3]

Organizers failed to submit sufficient petitions to force a recall vote against Cordova. He served the remainder of his single term, which concluded in March 2011.[1]
