A vote about whether to
recall Art Moyses from his position as Supervisor of LeRoy Township took place on
February 23, 2010. The recall effort was defeated and Moyses retained his seat.

According to the filed petition, which also served as the official ballot language, recall proponents asked if Moyses unlawfully used township resources for a gift to Lori Leudeman. Additionally, the language asked if he "misused his position as a township supervisor to impede an ongoing Michigan State Police investigation into possible misuse of the LeRoy-Rose Lake Fireman’s Fund."[2]

Path to the ballot
In order to force a recall election, supporters were required to collect a minimum of 115 valid signatures. According to officials petitioners submitted 144 valid signatures, 29 more than the 115 required.[2]
