Audrey Pheffer (b. August 13, 1941) was a Democratic member of the New York State Assembly, representing District 23 from 1987 until her resignation in May 2011. Pheffer resigned to become the County Clerk of Queens County.[1] A special election to replace her was held on September 13, 2011.

Pheffer's other political experience includes serving as 23rd Assembly District Leader, Part A since 1983, and state committeewoman for the 23rd Assembly District.

Pheffer's professional experience includes Rockaway Occupational Training Center; York City Commission on Human Rights; director of Far Rockaway Office, Neighborhood Stabilization Program, New York City Commission on Human Rights; administrative assistant to State Senator jeremy Weinstein; and Queens Liaison, New York City Council President Andrew Stein. She is currently employed as the County Clerk of Queens County, maintaining files of the county’s Supreme Courts and supervising the summoning of jurors selected to participate in trials.

Pheffer earned her B.A. from Queens College of the City University of New York. She and her husband, Glenn Riddell, have five children; Mitchell Pheffer, Stacey Amotto, Julie Canavatchel, Glenn T Riddell III and Gerard Riddell[2]

Pheffer ran unopposed in the September 14 Democratic primary. He defeated Harold Paez (R) in the general election on November 2.[3] In addition to running on the Democratic ticket, he was also listed as a candidate of the Independence Party of New York State and Working Families Party.

2008

On November 4, 2008, Pheffer won re-election to the New York State Assembly, District 23, defeating opponent Gerald Sullivan (R).

Pheffer raised $55,611 for his campaign while Sullivan raised $41,673.[4]
