Aurora City Library District Levy Increase (November 2011)
This measure was defeated
- YES 4,830 (40.81%)
- NO 7,006 (59.19%)
This measure sought to increase the current city property tax by a rate of $25 a year per $200,000 of assessed property value. The money would have gone towards the Mission Viejo library district area in the city. The city had initially closed the library due to lack of funds, but residents had argued that the city was supposed to allow the library to stay open longer due to previous agreements. So this measure was placed on the ballot to provide funds for the library district.
