The plan aims to raise $1.1 million by raising property tax rates from 1.472 to 1.639, adding approximately $165 to $179 to the annual tax bill for each $5,000 paid in property taxes. It is the first tax referendum by the district in 32 years. The district's annual spending per pupil ($15,674 in 2006-07) was the seventh highest in the state and third highest among the six districts that feed into New Trier Township High School.[1]
