Daniel Anderson is the Local Desk Editor of Ballotpedia. Ballotpedia's local content encompasses the municipal government, school board election, local court, local ballot measure and local recall projects. He joined Ballotpedia and the Lucy Burns Institute in June 2013 as a staff writer specializing on the school board elections project. From August 2013 to March 2015, he served as the project director for the same project.

Originally from Jackson, Michigan, he attended Hillsdale College and graduated summa cum laude in 2013 with a B.A. degree in political economy and a minor in history. At Hillsdale College, he also served as an officer for the Hillsdale Film Society and led a large campus volunteering program meant to provide local children with college student mentors to help them learn to read. During his time in college, he spent a semester living in Washington D.C. and interning with the public policy department of a non-profit grassroots organization.

He currently resides in Indianapolis, Indiana. He equally enjoys reading classical works, political tomes, economic texts and bad science fiction novels.
