Welcome to Ballotpedia. This note is about the user name you chose when you registered. The name you chose appears to be identical to or substantially similar to the name of an elected official or candidate. Ballotpedia has a user name policy to protect elected officials or candidates from mischievous impersonation.

This is the user account of a former Ballotpedia staffer or intern. See {{Ballotpedia}} for current staff. |

Your user name is inappropriate and will be deleted. If you wish to constructively edit on Ballotpedia, you may re-register with an appropriate user name. |

If you are affiliated with some of the people, campaigns, or organizations you have written about on Ballotpedia, you may have a conflict of interest. Editing where there is a conflict of interest, or where such a conflict might reasonably be inferred, are strongly discouraged. If you have a conflict of interest, you should avoid or exercise great caution when editing or creating articles related to you, your organization, your campaign or its competitors, as well as projects and products they are involved with. If you have a conflict of interest, but you want to add information in a spirit of impartiality consistent with Ballotpedia's goals, please identify yourself on the "talk" or "discussion" page of any articles you edit. Editors who fit these descriptions should particularly take care to identify themselves:

|
Some of the information you recently added to an article expresses an opinion without clarifying whose opinion it is or providing a footnote or citation to clarify why it is believed that someone holds that opinion. Sentences or phrases that express an opinion that make it sound as if Ballotpedia itself is asserting that opinion must be removed. However, usually the opinion belongs to someone and is part of the dialogue or discussion. If you can provide information about who the opinion belongs to and a reference to establish that this person does hold that opinion, please edit the article to reflect that. If this can't be done, the opinion commentary needs to be removed from the article. See Help:Citation conventions, Help:Footnotes and Help:Tutorials/Citing References for assistance. |
| Welcome to Ballotpedia.
This note is about the appropriate use of edit summaries when you edit an article. Some pointers to keep in mind:
|
| This note is to let you know that before you make a significant change to an article, you are strongly encouraged to discuss the change on the article's talk page before making it.
It is especially advisable to discuss changes on the talk page when you plan to:
It is generally not expected to discuss a change on an article's talk page in advance when you are:

Article titles should not be moved (re-named) unless the current title doesn't conform to Ballotpedia's article naming conventions. When the current title conforms to Ballotpedia's naming conventions but you nevertheless believe that the article would be better served with a different title, you should initiate a discussion about your preference on the article's talk page and work toward consensus before moving the page. If you recently moved a page without going through these steps, the page may have been restored to its original title. If so, and you continue to believe that the article would be better served with a different title, you are encouraged to open a discussion on the article's talk page regarding your views on an appropriate title for the article. |

You recently added some information to an article without providing a source such as a citation or footnote. It is important to provide a citation or reference to justify adding information so that readers can assess the legitimacy of the information for themselves. This screenshot tutorial explains in detail how to add footnotes. The information you added should be removed unless you can provide a source. Thank you! |

You recently added some citations or footnotes to an article in a non-standard style. You might like to review and learn about our standard citation and footnote conventions which you can do through this tutorial on citing references. Thank you! |
