Watson won election in the 2012 election for Florida House of Representatives District 107. Watson defeated incumbent John Patrick Julien in the Democratic primary on August 14, 2012, and defeated Janice Denise Rhymes (I) and Vickie Renee Williams (I) in the general election which took place on November 6, 2012. Wilson defeated two opponents, Erhabor Ighodaro and Sharon Pritchett, in the February 8 special Democratic primary. Wilson won election after a recount reversed the original count which favored Pritchett.[1] Since no Republicans filed, Watson did not face a general election.
