Barberton Rental Fee Referendum was not on the November 3, 2009 ballot in Summit County for voters in the City of Barberton. The referendum had proposed to overturn legislation on new registration fees for rental property.
Barberton city officials passed the new ordinance in June 2009 and is scheduled to take effect in January 2010. Referendum supporters are required to collect 1,185 signatures to place the measure on the November ballot. On July 22, 2009 supporters said that they submitted approximately 1,100 signatures and are still collecting more. The deadline was August 8.[1]
