Beaver Township Fire Levy Measures, 2 (November 2011)

Two Beaver Township Fire Levy Measures were on the November 8, 2011 ballot in the township of Beaver which is in Bay County.
Both measures were approved
The first measure sought to increase the current fire levy by a rate of $.75 per $1,000 of assessed property value for a further two years in order to pay for a new fire truck in the township.
- YES 203 (55.46%)
- NO 163 (44.54%)
The second measure seeks to renew the current fire levy which is set at a rate of $1 per $1,000 of assessed property value for a further ten years in order to continue to pay for fire protection services in the township.[1]
- YES 266 (72.28%)

Text of Measure
The question on the ballot:
| Measure 1: Shall the 15 mill tax limitation on general ad velorem taxes within Beaver township imposed under Article IX, Section 6, of the Michigan Constitution be increased for said township by .75 mill (7.75 per $1,000.00 of taxable value) for the period of three (3) years, December 1, 2012 through December 1, 2014 inclusive, for the purpose of purchasing a new fire tanker truck and other equipment; and shall the township levy an increase in millage for said purpose, thereby raising in the first year an estimated $57,000.00? |
