Bernie Anderson (May 15, 1942-January 11, 2014[1]) was a Democratic member of the Nevada Assembly, representing District 31 from 1990 to 2010. He served as Speaker Pro Tempore. State term limits disqualified him from re-election in 2010.


Anderson earned his B.S. in Education from the University of Nevada, Reno, in 1971. His professional experience included working as a teacher. He served as a staff sergeant in the Nevada Army National Guard from 1960 to 1967.[2]

On November 4, 2008, Anderson won re-election to the District 31 Seat in the Nevada Assembly, defeating opponents Ron Longtin and Jim Nord.[3]
