Bethel School District Bond Measure (November 2012)
This measure sought to issue a bond in the amount of $49.5 million in order to help pay for replace two elementary schools as well as making improvements to buildings throughout the district. If approved, the current property tax rate would not increase but just be extended to pay for the bond. School officials have stated that the new facilities are important for the district and for the students. The school which would be torn down were built in the 1950s and have only seen minor upgrades since then.

|“||Shall Bethel School District update educational materials; improve student safety; repair, construct facilities; issue $49.5 million in general obligation bonds? If the bonds are approved, they will be payable from taxes on property or property owenership that are not subject to the limits of sections 11 and 11b of the Oregon Constitution.||”|
