Betty Jean Grant is a 2014 Democratic candidate for District 63 of the New York State Senate.

Grant currently serves on the Erie County Legislature. She previously served on the Buffalo Council and Buffalo Public Schools Board.[1]

Elections for the office of New York State Senate will consist of a primary election on September 9, 2014, and a general election on November 4, 2014. The signature-filing deadline for candidates wishing to run in this election was July 10, 2014. Incumbent Timothy M. Kennedy will face Betty Jean Grant in the Democratic primary, while Ricky Donovan, Sr. is unopposed in the Republican primary. Dennis Nawojski was removed from the ballot before the Democratic primary. Kennedy is also running on the Working Families Party and Independence Party of New York State tickets. Donovan is also running on the Conservative Party and Independence Party of New York State tickets.[2]
