Hilty is a Consultant for the Nemadji Energy Company and President of Minnesota Panel Systems. He previously was a Partner with Sawhill Incorporated, and a teaching associate at the University of Minnesota.
Hilty is a founding member of the Right to be Rural Coalition, is on the Board of the Audubon Society of the Northwoods, Greater Minnesota Coalition, and the Northern Technology Initiative, and is a member of the Midwest Progressive Elected Officials Network, National Conferences of State Legislatures, Democrat/Farmer/Labor House Caucus steering committee.[1]
