Stoltze serves on the Board of Directors of the Chugiak Senior Housing Incorporated. He has previously served as administrative assistant to the Alaska State Senate President, Alaska State Senate (2001-2002), and legislative aide in the Alaska Legislature (1982-2002).
Stoltze is a member of the Greater Palmer Chamber of Commerce, Greater Wasilla Chamber of Commerce, Chugiak Lions, Chugiak Senior Citizens Center Incorporated, Chugiak-Eagle River Chamber of Commerce, and Elks Lodge #2682.[1]

Stoltze won re-election to the 16th District Seat in 2010. He had no opposition in the August 24 primary.[7] He defeated Bonnie Nelson in the November 2 general election.[8]
