Hudson was City Alderman for the City of Magee, Mississippi. He has also been a member/Chair of the Forrest County Supervisors. He has been County Supervisor for Forrest County since 1999. He joined the Mississippi State Senate in 2008 and has served in that position since. He represents the 45th district.
Hudson used to be the CEO of Hudson Salvage. He is currently a Rancher.
Hudson attended the University of Southern Mississippi. He also attended the University of Arizona and Perkinston Junior College in 1957.

Hudson won re-election to the Mississippi Senate District 45. He ran unopposed in the primary on August 2, 2011. No candidates ran in the Democratic primary. Reform Party candidate Yasming Johnson was running against Hudson but was removed from the ballot in September.[1] Hudson won the general election unopposed on November 8, 2011. [2]
