This measure sought to implement a levy of 1 mill in order to help pay for library services and costs. The library primarily gets funding from the state but because of expected budget shortfalls in the coming year the county thought it prudent to place this measure on the ballot to ensure library services were not reduced. A survey of library uses stated that a majority would support the measure to ensure library services remain as they currently stand. Library hours had been consistently cut over the past few years so library officials noted that increasing their hours will be one of the main things to improve. Officials expect around $896,903 a year to be generated from this levy.
