A Birmingham School District Levy Renewal measure was on the November 8, 2011 ballot in the Birmingham school district area which is in Oakland County.

This measure was approved

  • YES 10,297 (83.41%)Approveda
  • NO 2,048 (16.59%)[1]

This measure sought to renew the current levy which is set at a rate of $7.98 per $1,000 of assessed property value for a further ten years in order to continue to pay for general operational costs of the school district.[2] Proponents of the measure noted that no increases would occur so residents will just pay the same amount of property taxes if this measure is approved. A total of $6.6 million a year is generated from this levy currently.[3]
