Black Hawk Gambling Expansion, 2009

A vote on whether to expand gambling in the City of Black Hawk, Colorado was on the January 13, 2009 ballot in Gilpin County for voters in the City of Black Hawk.
The city's residents overwhelmingly approved the measure. The approved changes will take place on July 1.[1]
The vote was 54 "yes" votes to six "no" votes to:
- Expand the maximum bet in casinos from $5 to $100
- Allow craps, roulette and 24-hours-a-day gambling.
Amendment 50
The vote in Black Hawk was enabled by the passage in November 2008 of Colorado Amendment 50 (2008). Amendment 50 allows gambling towns, like Black Hawk, to vote on raising the stakes.
