Two Blanchard & Palmer Township Fire Levy Replacement measures were on the November 8, 2011 ballot in the townships of Blanchard and Palmer which are in Putnam County.

Both measures were approved

The Blanchard measure sought to replace the current fire levy with one set at a rate of $.05 per $100 of assessed property value for a further five years in order to continue to pay for fire maintenance and operational costs in the township.

Blanchard Measure

The question on the ballot:

A replacement of a tax for the benefit of Blanchard Township for the purpose of providing and maintaining fire apparatus, appliances, buildings, or sites therefore, or sources of water supply and materials therefore, or the establishment and maintenance of lines of fire alarm telegraph or the payment of permanent, part-time, or volunteer firefighters or firefighting companies to operate the same at a rate not exceeding 0.5 mill for each one dollar of valuation, which amounts to $0.05 for each one hundred dollars of valuation, for 5 years, commencing in 2012, first due in calendar year 2013.[3]
