The Blanchard measure sought to replace the current fire levy with one set at a rate of $.05 per $100 of assessed property value for a further five years in order to continue to pay for fire maintenance and operational costs in the township.
The Palmer measure sought to replace the current fire levy with one set at a rate of $.07 per $100 of assessed property value for a further five years in order to continue to pay for fire maintenance and equipment costs in the township.

|A replacement of a tax for the benefit of Blanchard Township for the purpose of providing and maintaining fire apparatus, appliances, buildings, or sites therefore, or sources of water supply and materials therefore, or the establishment and maintenance of lines of fire alarm telegraph or the payment of permanent, part-time, or volunteer firefighters or firefighting companies to operate the same at a rate not exceeding 0.5 mill for each one dollar of valuation, which amounts to $0.05 for each one hundred dollars of valuation, for 5 years, commencing in 2012, first due in calendar year 2013.|
