Robert Luis "Bob" Beauprez is a Republican candidate for Governor of Colorado in the 2014 elections.[1]

From 2003-2007, Beauprez served as a Republican member of the United States House of Representatives, representing the 7th congressional district of Colorado.

He was considered a potential candidate for U.S. Senate in 2014, but ultimately decided to enter the gubernatorial race instead.[2]

Beauprez made his first bid for the governorship in 2006, losing to Democrat Bill Ritter in the November general election.[1]

Early speculation about the 2014 U.S. Senate elections had Beauprez on a short list of possible Republican challengers to incumbent Sen. Mark Udall (D).[3] Rather than pursue Udall's seat in the Senate, however, Beauprez filed his candidacy paperwork for the gubernatorial election on March 3, 2014.[1] He is running for the chance to unseat Democratic incumbent Gov. John Hickenlooper.

He is seeking the Republican nomination in the primary election on June 24. The general election takes place November 4, 2014.
