Bothell City Annexation Question (April 2012)
This measure was defeated
- YES 2,609 (45.43%)
- NO 3,134 (54.57%)
This measure sought to allow the annexation of Bothell unincorporated area into the city of Bothell. This was the second time this proposal was voted on, it was defeated in November 2011. The Snohomish Fire District 1 officials had noted that if the unincorporated area in annexed, then there would be longer wait times for emergency service needs. Though the city has countered this position, the district had come out against this annexation measure. Proponents of the annexation had noted that there would not be service interruptions and the citizens annexed into the city would gain better overall services.
