A Boulder County Sheriff Term Limit Question was on the November 1, 2011 ballot in Boulder County.

This measure was approved

  • YES 46,187 (60.34%)Approveda
  • NO 30,359 (39.66%)[1]

This measure sought to extend term limits for County Sheriff to four, four-year terms instead of the current three term limit. The County Commission also had the option to eliminate term limits for the sheriff completely, but thought the addition of one term had a greater likelihood of passing. The current Sheriff had commented that if this measure was approved, he would look to run again as this is his last term so otherwise he would be out of office.[2]
