Issues

Campaign themes

Curtiss' website highlights the following campaign themes:[1]

Agriculture

  • Excerpt:"Creating enhanced cooperation between local agricultural communities and research facilities to accelerate production, and to continue to find innovative products that help farmers and ranchers diversify their products for success."

Education

  • Excerpt:"Nebraska’s students are in a good position, with small class sizes, well-funded rural schools, and a large teacher population. Through those assets, Nebraska’s students should be encouraged to be a source for not only good grades, but quality students, educated to take on the challenges of Nebraska’s future."

Family Values

  • Excerpt:"Revitalization of the “family” must be a main priority. While it is not the government’s role to determine what a “family” is (non-traditional families vs. traditional), family oriented societies produce better children and citizens."

Government

  • Excerpt:"Re-focus the government in Nebraska to be as minimalist as reasonably possible to fulfill the idea “to do for all what individuals cannot do for themselves.”"

Pro-Life

  • Excerpt:"As a father himself, the sanctity of human life is something Brook will defend in all cases. Not only through a vote against state-funding of abortion, but through the flipside of the issue as well - making adoption easier for qualified, willing parents."

Taxes

  • Excerpt:"Reduction in wasteful spending, over-spending, and irresponsible spending should all be actively considered in every stage of local government and implemented wherever possible, even at the cost of creating a smaller government, to the benefit of all those paying taxes."
